Cozy Blend of Education, Romance & Realism

This review may contain spoilers, but I simply adored the entirety of the episode. It exuded a remarkable sense of authenticity, warmth, and comfort. While the primary focus rested on the conflict between the high school teacher and the academy instructor, alongside Seo Hyejin's student raising an issue regarding a multiple-choice question with multiple answers, it was the subtle moments and the execution of the drama that truly made it a heartwarming and comforting experience for me. I appreciated the thematic exploration in episode 1 concerning multiple-choice questions with multiple correct answers. Despite my familiarity with the competitiveness of Korean schools and students, I remain fascinated by how they magnify minor errors into significant issues. In my school, teachers would likely offer additional marks to students who selected either of the two correct answers instead of requiring a retake. However, Korean schools elevate such matters to an entirely different level of seriousness—quite amusing, to be honest. The cinematography added a realistic dimension to the episode, enveloping the atmosphere in warmth and allure. The interactions between characters felt organic and sincere, devoid of any exaggerated moments. Despite the limited emphasis on romance and the male lead in episode 1, from their initial encounter after years to their subsequent meeting at the coffee shop, everything unfolded seamlessly. Their chemistry felt incredibly genuine, transcending the realm of acting to embody the essence of their characters. I particularly admired the laid-back nature of the supporting female character. Her interaction with a fellow mate at the instructor's exam hall was exceptionally smooth. Despite appearing in only one scene throughout the episode, she managed to be immensely likable. I eagerly anticipate seeing more of her character in the future. Moving forward, I hope the drama continues to delve into the myriad challenges faced by students and instructors in Korea's competitive society while striking a delicate balance between romance and educational themes. Additionally, I found it delightful how the drama evoked reminiscent vibes of some of my favorite workplace dramas like "Misaeng" and "Black Dog." In conclusion, episode 1 left me thoroughly content, and I am eagerly anticipating what lies ahead.

Upcoming Best Romance Drama currently!!

Upcoming Best Romance Drama Alert! This drama shows great promise! It shares the same style and genre as the drama "One Spring Night." If you enjoyed "One Spring Night" and "Something in the Rain," you're bound to love this one too! With strong directing and cinematography, it combines a realistic workplace plot with sweet romance. I'm a fan of the main lead actress and adore their chemistry. Looking forward to more romantic scenes! Expect a slow-burn romance with a vibe and texture akin to "One Spring Night" and "Something in the Rain." The age gap between the characters is only six years. The female lead was a third-year university student and part-time study guide/instructor, while the male lead was in high school preparing for his matriculation exam, aged around 18 or 19. Based on the age chart photos, the current age of the female lead is 35 and the male lead is 29, hence the six-year age gap. I'm thoroughly enjoying this drama and can't wait for the new episodes!

Romance in Afterschool Academy

Having seen Episodes 1 & 2, count me in! With the same director as 'Something in the Rain' and 'One Spring Night,' I have faith in this one. The dynamic of a tutor-student relationship, evolving into colleagues at an afterschool academy (known as hagwon in South Korea), with a young man pursuing a woman six years his senior, is always captivating. Thus far, both the female and male leads present compelling arguments of their own. The nuances of their communication, especially the micro expressions of the male lead during their cafe conversations, add depth to the narrative. I also appreciate the introduction, the OST, and the director's attention to detail in each episode. Looking forward to witnessing the story's progression in the upcoming episodes!
